Michael Wolf is Managing Director and co-founder of Activate, the strategy and technology consulting firm.
He serves on the boards of Entercom Communications (NYSE: ETM), one of the largest broadcasters in the United States and iAmplify.com, the global web video education network.
Michael Wolf was formerly the President and former COO of MTV Networks. Before taking that role, he was a Director of McKinsey & Company, the international consultancy, and head of its Global Media and Entertainment Practice. Wolf was previously a senior partner with Booz & Company, where he founded and spearheaded its media and entertainment group.
Until recently, he served on the board of Slide.com, the social application company recently sold to Google.
Wolf is the author of publications on the subjects of entertainment, economics, non-fiction, e-business strategies and the development of global media.
His bestselling book on entertainment economics, The Entertainment Economy: How Media Forces Are Transforming Our Lives was published in the U.S. in 1999 and then globally. He is frequent contributor and op-ed columnist for publications such as the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, and has written for a number of journals and business publications.
Michael Wolf is also a well-known public speaker and leader of media and entertainment programs, including heading panels at the World Economic Forum in Davos and conferences sponsored by influential publishing companies.
He graduated from Columbia University.
